Giant Recreation World Rental Terms

Important Information About Your Rentals
On arrival you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the operators of Giant Recreation World. Here is a summary of their terms and conditions:

Definitions
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Giant Recreation World.

    * The Supplier means the operator of Giant Recreation World
    * The Client is also referred to as the hirer (s) or renter (s)

Cancellations
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
Cancellations are accepted up to 24 days prior to departure date with no further penalty. If you cancel less than 24 days before your scheduled departure date, you will also forfeit your $500 security deposit.

1) No one-way rentals.

2) Transportation to and from local airport available.

3) Free storage of automobile during term of rental agreement. GIANT RECREATION WORLD WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR VEHICLE WHILE IN STORAGE. If your vehicle is damaged, stolen, or vandalized, your personal insurance company will be responsible.

4) All rental fees plus estimated mileage, sales tax and $1,000 security deposit must be paid in full, in advance of a rental vehicle leaving the lot.

5) Insurance is included on the rental unit in the rental fee. The deductible for comprehensive and collision insurance is $1,000, which must be paid in advance. The deposit of $1,000 will be refunded within three business days upon return of the vehicle providing it is undamaged.

6) Rental vehicles are issued with a full tank of gas, and must be returned in the same condition. If the rental vehicle must be refueled by Giant Recreation World, the renter will be charged a $40 service fee in addition to actual fuel cost.

7) Rental vehicles are issued clean, and must be returned in the same condition. If the rental vehicle MUST be cleaned by Giant Recreation World, the renter will be charged a minimum $75 service fee which will be deducted from your deposit. Vacuum cleaners and cleaning supplies are available for your use at the dealership.

8) Rental vehicles are issued with empty and rinsed holding tanks and MUST be returned in the same condition. Giant Recreation World's dealership does not have a dump station. If the tanks must be dumped and rinsed by Giant Recreation World, the renter will be charged a $50 service fee which will be deducted from your deposit.

9) The Rental Manager or his designee will show you how to operate the systems in the unit when you pick it up. He/she will also take you on a test drive to familiarize you with the vehicle handling.

10) IF YOU ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR THE RENTAL UNIT IS VANDALIZED OR DAMAGED, REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCES YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT WILL BE FORFEITED. The remainder of your security deposit, if any, will be refunded only if our insurance carrier is successful in subrogating the claim against another insurance company, which generally takes 6 - 12 months. It is your responsibility to obtain a police report in the event of an accident or vandalism, and to call the Rental Manager during normal business hours which are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

11) GIANT RECREATION WORLD WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
a. Loss of personal property or damage thereto.
b. Down time for accidental or mechanical failure.
c. Incidental expense for accident or mechanical failure, including but not limited to restaurant meals and motel rooms.
d. All units are covered under limited factory warranty and must be taken to Ford or Coachmen Dealerships for repairs unless authorization is obtained from the Rental Manager to take the rental vehicle elsewhere.

12) GIANT RECREATION WORLD WILL SUPPLY:
a. a sewer hose
b. a water hose (25')
c. a 30 to 20-amp plug adaptor for campground plug-in.
d. TV cable 25'

13) If the rental vehicle is clean and available, it may be possible for you to pick up your RV the afternoon prior to your rental start date to allow pre-loading in preparation for your RV vacation. Contact the Rental Manager at least two (2) days in advance if you would like to make such a request. Giant Recreation World will attempt to accommodate you in any way possible. There is a fee of $49.95 for early bird pick up.

14) Giant Recreation World MUST HAVE A MAJOR CREDIT CARD IMPRINT ON FILE in order to release a rental vehicle. The supplier accepts Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover. The supplier cannot and will not release a rental vehicle without one of the previously listed credit cards.

15) Giant Recreation World WILL NOT RENT TO ANYONE UNDER 25 YEARS OF AGE, AND NO ONE UNDER 25 YEARS OF AGE IS PERMITTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE.

16) PENALTY FOR LATE RETURN OF RENTAL VEHICLE WILL BE A MINIMUM OF 100% FORFEITURE OF SECURITY DEPOSIT. This is a very stringent policy which will not be waived. Late return of a rental vehicle inconveniences the next rental client, and may cause cancellation of a rental due to the unavailability of the rental vehicle.

17) You should have a GREAT vacation. Giant Recreation World's rental vehicles are all current models and are retired from rental service at or about 25,000 miles. The supplier's rental vehicles are properly maintained throughout their rental service period.

18) SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN RENTAL VEHICLES. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

19) The customer is responsible for any/all damage to the supplier's vehicle while the RV is on rent, this includes interior and exterior damage. The customer is responsible to pay for the damage costs whether the customer was at fault or not, even if the damage is due to Acts of Nature (Wind, Rain, Earthquake, Fire, Flood, etc); or if the damage was the act of another member of the Customer's Rental Party. Additionally, the Customer will be responsible for Loss of Use and Diminished Value of the vehicle caused by that damage.

20) Substitutions: Giant Recreation World reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equal or higher quality. If a vehicle of lower size/style or quality is offered and accepted, the supplier's liability is the price difference between the vehicle requested and the vehicle offered.

21) Roof Access: Denied. No one is allowed on the roof of any rental vehicle. Roofs are not designed to hold weight and can be extremely slippery when wet or even just damp. Ladders are for service department personnel to access the roof to service the A/C system, roof vents, TV antenna etc. Customers are responsible for all roof damage, cleaning and liability for injury or death to any person falling off the roof. Please do not put yourself at risk for liability or civil actions.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
